Asphaltene or Polyvinylchloride Waste Blended with Cement to Produce a Sustainable Material Used in Nuclear Safety

نویسندگان

چکیده

The current research uses sustainable methods to preserve the environment, such as exploiting municipal or industrial waste that may harm environment. wreckage of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes and asphaltene are used additives cement improve its mechanical properties, while stabilizing radioactive resulting from peaceful nuclear materials, enhancing radiation shielding efficiency. New composites Portland with ground PVC up 50% investigated. Fast neutron removal cross-section (?R) gamma parameters, mass attenuation coefficient (MAC), half-value layer (HVL), effective atomic number (Zeff), exposure build-up factor (EBF) at wide energy range thickness, determined. compressive strength apparent porosity examined test durability prepared stabilizers for waste. obtained results show bulk density hardened cementitious was slightly increased by increasing additive amount asphaltene. reached more than 4.5 MP 50 wt.% 8.8 MPa These values significantly higher those recommended US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (3.4 MPa). Additionally, demonstrate although MAC is decreased adding PVC, highly increased, reaching 171% in case 304% PVC. We can conclude have optimized properties stabilize

Immobilization of Trypsin in Lignocellulosic Waste Material to Produce Peptides with Bioactive Potential from Whey Protein

In this study, trypsin (Enzyme Comission 3.4.21.4) was immobilized in a low cost, lignocellulosic support (corn cob powder-CCP) with the goal of obtaining peptides with bioactive potential from cheese whey. The pretreated support was activated with glyoxyl groups, glutaraldehyde and IDA-glyoxyl. The immobilization yields of the derivatives were higher than 83%, and the retention of catalytic ac...

Sustainable Studies on Concrete with GGBS As a Replacement Material in Cement

The utilization of supplementary cementation materials is well accepted, since it leads to several possible improvements in the concrete composites, as well as the overall economy. The present paper is an effort to quantify the strength of ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) at various replacement levels and evaluate its efficiencies in concrete. Cement with GGBS replacement has emerged...

Using Metaheuristic Algorithms Combined with Clustering Approach to Solve a Sustainable Waste Collection Problem

Sustainability is a monumental issue that should be considered in designing a logistics system. In order to incorporate sustainability concepts in our study, a waste collection problem with economic, environmental, and social objective functions was addressed. The first objective function minimized overall costs of the system, including establishment of depots and treatment facilities. Addressi...
